Receiving the American Ambassador, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Emphasizes the Importance of Partnership and Harmony between Security Forces, Popular Crowd Heroes and Tribe Members in the Efforts to Vanquish ISIS in Anbar
Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, emphasized the importance of partnership and harmony between the security forces, the popular crowd heroes and the tribe members in the efforts to confront and vanquish ISIS in Anbar. He reiterated the importance of coupling the security remedies with political steps to ensure more unity and harmony among all the components and forces of the Iraqi people.
This came when his eminence received the US ambassador to Iraq Stewart Johns at his office in Baghdad on Tuesday, 19/5/2015.
For his part, the American ambassador expressed his country’s support to the security, stability and unity of Iraq, highlighting US’ eagerness to cooperate with Iraq in its war against terrorism. There was also talk in the meeting about the security developments in Anbar and the situation of former and new displaced populations, and it was affirmed that more attention and assistance will be given to them.
