Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, called the concerned institutions and ministries to ensure care, human needs and basic life requirements to the displaced families in the province of Anbar, highlighting at the same time that the Iraqi provinces in the center and the South are ready to welcome those displaced from Anbar.
This came when his eminence received at his office in Baghdad, on Thursday, 28/5/2015, a delegation of MPs from Anbar, including sheikh Ghazi Faisal Al Gaoud, MP Fares Taha Al fares and MP Nahla Jabbar Khalife.
For his part, MP Ghazi Faisal Al Gaoud expressed his appreciation of the positive stances of Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim especially that they call for unity, solidarity and cohesion among the Iraqi population. He also reminded the attendees of the “Our Resisting Anbar” initiative, and explained that it represented a solution to the problems that the province suffers from. Al Gaoud also reviewed the efforts of Sayyid Al Hakim and his direct intervention to solve the problems of the displaced families, mobilize the forces to fight ISIS, and achieve national unity. He added that providing care to the displaced is everyone’s responsibility, not only the state’s, and that this is a historical opportunity for the Iraqi people to prove its cohesion and unity.
The two sides discussed security developments in the province of Anbar, as well as the issue of the displaced and the need to provide them with the necessary care. His eminence finally stated that the issue of the displaced was one of the top priorities he had discussed in his last meeting with Dr. Al Abadi and with all the ministers he met.
