    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Discusses with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Iraq the Advancement of Military Operations Against ISIS, the Civil Peace Initiative and Assistance to the Displaced

     
    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the need for more seriousness from the United States and the international coalition in their efforts to confront the terrorist group of ISIS, explaining that the KSA bombings indicate again that the danger of ISIS is not limited to Iraq but it is rather a real threat to world peace and security.  His eminence highlighted the importance of engaging the citizens of Anbar and violated regions in the liberation of their cities and lands from criminal ISIS
    This came when Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim received at his office in Baghdad on Saturday, 6/6/2015, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Iraq, Brett McGurk.
    On another nore, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim demonstrated the inclusiveness of the civil peace and state building initiative and all Iraqis’ need for it, as it meets the demands of all Iraqi components and represents the cornerstone for building a united and stable Iraq. His eminence also insisted on the need to take care of the displaced families and fix their situation so that they don’t turn into a new problem that adds up to the problems of Iraq.
    Furthermore, the two sides discussed the advancement of the military operations against ISIS in Anbar and the plans for eliminating this terrorist group, in addition to the laws blocked in parliament especially the National Guard Law the importance of which was emphasized in view of the country’s urgent need for it.
    For his part, McGurk affirmed his country’s support for Iraq until peace and stability are established.
