Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Maintains that the late Ayatollah Sheikh Al Assefi (May Allah Rest his Soul in Peace) Was an Important Pillar in Establishing the Cultural, Knowledge, Political and Social Aspects of the Islamic Movement

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, took part in the mourning ceremony held for the soul of Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammed Mehdi Al Assefi (May Allah rest his soul in peace) who passed away last Thursday in Qom city at the age of 76 years. In an eulogy speech in praise of the late, his Eminence said during the mourning ceremony held in Al Hanana Mosque in Najaf  yesterday, on Sunday, June 7, 2015 in the presence of a big number of religious and political figures that he was a prominent scholar known for knowledge, hard work, assiduity and  jihad in the cause of Allah and has offered lots of sacrifices for Islam and for his fair cause over many years. He added that he was an important pillar and the fruit of efforts made for decades to build the cultural, knowledge, political and social aspects of the Islamic movement, noting that the late suffered a lot, was an ascetic and had an influencing presence in the different areas and that he returned to his Lord with his hand full of all these offerings and great services, asking Allah the Almighty to “guide us to follow in the light of our scholars and great figures and to draw the path they have drawn along their sublime faith journey; So peace upon him the day he was born, the day he sacrificed, offered and struggled and the day he returned to his Lord as aggrieved.”
