    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Calls on the Parliament and the Government to Develop the Work of the Accountability and Justice Authority and to Avoid the Previous Obstacles to their Action


        Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, called on the parliament and the government to consider some basic points related to the development of the work of the Accountability and Justice Authority and to overcome the obstacles that used to stand in its way during the last period. This came during a meeting held between his Eminence in Baghdad on Sunday, June 14, 2015 and Mr. Bassem Sharif al-Badri, head of the Accountability and Justice Authority.  
        His Eminence maintained that he strongly supports the work of the Authority and its achievements, calling for considering the points contained in the civil peace initiative which calls for developing the Authority’s action, so as to achieve unanimity between the political blocs until reaching results that would be satisfying to everyone.
        For his part, al Badri valuated the deep understanding of the accountability and justice issue and its importance amidst the conditions the country is facing by the head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, since it is an issue that draws his attention as well as everyone’s attention. The head of the Authority also pointed to the support by Sayyid Ammar al Hakim through the government and the national coalition for the draft law of the Accountability and Justice Authority achieved by the government and submitted to the parliament to put it to vote after taking into consideration the remarks of the his Eminence, adding that the civil peace initiative presented by his Eminence will be part of the current development of the law in order to be submitted later to the parliament for vote.
