Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Calls for Accelerating the Process of Including the Rafha Detainees in the Foundation Law and Compensating them Proportionally to the Sacrifices They Made to the Country

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, maintained the necessity of showing care for the political prisoners among the Rafha detainees and for accelerating the process of including them in the foundation law. His Eminence also called for settling their general situation and compensating them, materially and morally, proportionally to the sacrifices they have made and the suffering they have gone through due to their imprisonment and detention. This segment, according to his Eminence, has suffered a lot and has incurred lots of damages, and thus, the foundation law must be amended so as to include them and provide for their needs.
This came during a meeting held between his Eminence on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, and a delegation representing the political prisoners led by Dr. Hussein Ali Khalil, head of the Foundation.
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim also called for quickly deciding on the Rafha detainees file submitted to the private committee, because this segment deserves efforts to be made to do justice to it in appreciation of its jihadist and heroic attitudes and sacrifices.
For his part, Mr. Sultani hoped that everyone stands by this foundation which tries to do justice to the most damaged segment in the community, i.e. the political prisoners, and to give them their rights. He also asserted in a press conference following his meeting with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim that we must provide the minimum compensation for this segment to relieve the pains and difficulties faced by those who have made sacrifices, saying he is proud of the role of al-Hakim family who experienced afflictions in the prisons and detentions.
