    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Receives the European Union Ambassador on the Occasion of the End of her Mission in Iraq


        Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, received the ambassador of the European Union in Iraq, Jana Hybášková, at his office in Baghdad, on Thursday, 30/7/2015, on the occasion of the end of her mission in Iraq. His eminence expressed his hope that the cooperation between Iraq and the European Union would continue and move forward towards a full partnership, in order to serve the interests of both parties. His eminence stated that the relations between Iraq and the European Union are important to both parties, given Iraq’s strategic and economic position, adding that the relations could lead to more openness to the European countries and could instill the principles of democracy, achieve progress in reconstruction and develop different sectors in the country. For her part, Hybášková expressed the will of the Union country members to cooperate with Iraq in the reconstruction of the infrastructure, in the energy sector, the training of security forces, investment, human rights, fight against organized crime, money laundering and the theft of antiquities and others.
