Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, received at his office in Baghdad on Sunday August 2, 2015, Mrs. Um Qusay who saved a group of Spyker soldiers, take care for them and sheltered them in her home.
His Eminence considered Um Qusay as the title of national cohesion, calling on all those who seek the fragmentation and disintegration of Iraq to take a lesson from this Iraqi mother who put her life and the lives of her sons and her tribe at risk by refusing to comply with the ISIS wishes, taking care for the soldiers, feeding them and bringing them back to their home safe. His Eminence noted that all kinds of honors would not fulfill the right of Mrs. Um Qusay’s position, stressing that the history would record Um Qusay’s position as well as that of the popular crowd who sacrificed their lives for Salahuddin and Anbar lands to eradicate ISIS.
His Eminence declared that the unity between Iraq's land and people is everyone's responsibility and that the coexistence between the components of the Iraqi people is inevitable, praising the government and Parliament position in honoring Um Qusay, praying the Almighty God to preserve Iraqis from all evil.
