Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Discusses with the British Ambassador the Security Victories, the Civil Peace Initiative and the Transfer of Powers to Provinces

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the need that people of the usurped territories must have a direct and principle role in liberating their lands and possessing them after their liberation from ISIS terrorist gangs. His Eminence reiterated that we shall keep up with security victories with real political steps that reinforce the national community peace and build the Iraqi state. He also highlighted that the transfer of powers to the provinces represents an essential transfer in the administrative and political system in Iraq.
This came in a meeting between al-Hakim and Frank Baker, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Iraq, in His Eminence's office in Baghdad, on Wednesday May 08, 2015.
For his part, the British ambassador praised the initiative of Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim regarding civil peace and state-building, describing it as a constructive and distinct project in strengthening the Iraqi national unity. Both parties discussed the cooperation prospects between the two countries, as well as the political, security and economic challenges in the country, where they stressed the need to work hard for the legislation of important laws and returning the displaced to their areas.
