    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim meets Secretary of the Supreme National Council of Iran


        Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic supreme Council of Iraq, stressed that Iraq is determined to achieve progress, development, and the legitimate demands of the Iraqi people, reiterating on Iraq’s ability to defeat terrorism and to stand against the conspiracies that want to spark the disagreement and sedition among the sons of the one people, praising the support of the Islamic Republic of Iraq.
    This came during a meeting between Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim and the Secretary of the Supreme National Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani in Tehran, Tuesday 18/08/2015.
        For his part, Shamkhani praised the courage of Iraqis in keeping the sovereignty and the unity of their country in the face of the terrorist attack, pointing out that Iraq represents a good figure of unity and co-existence between all of its components and sects, stressing on the importance of the unity of Iraqis and supporting the security forces to root out the menace of the terrorist ISIS, praising the reforms of the government in order to improve the living conditions of the Iraqi people.
        They discussed also the developments in Iraq and the region and the relations between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
    For his part, the Iranian official assured the continuous support of his country to Iraq in its war against terrorism and strengthening security and stability.
