Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Receives Speaker of parliament Doctor Salim al-Jubouri, and Calls for the Activation of Legislative and Oversight Role of the Chamber of Deputies to Support the Reform Process in the Country
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, called the Chamber of Deputies to take the lead in legalizing reforms and expanding its oversight role. His Eminence stressed that reforms must be constitutional and supported by legal contexts in order to keep it from any appeal in its legitimacy legality.
This came during a meeting between Dr. Jubouri, Speaker of Parliament, and His Eminence in his office in Baghdad, on Wednesday 26/08/2015.
His Eminence also stressed that reforms must be balanced and have the support of political forces in the framework of a comprehensive and effective reform system, not just quick decisions and procedures to silence the people rather than purposeful reformist decisions.
On his part, Dr. Jubouri stressed that the Parliament is serious in legislating the broken laws in the Chamber of Deputies as the law of the Parties, the National Guard, and the Federal Court, as well as activating the regulatory role of the Parliament on various state institutions. Dr. Jubouri stressed at the same time the matching point of views of the two sides on all the issues that were discussed.
