Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Stresses the Reform of the Legislative Institution Through Enacting Important Laws

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, president of Islamic Supreme Council for Iraq, stressed the reform of the legislative institution through enacting important laws, blaming the House of Representatives for ratifying and enacting laws that contribute into moving reform’s speed. He also noted that a part of reforms depends in its core on Iraqi people representatives and not only on government.

During his meeting with the deputy Mehdi al-Hafez on Saturday October 10, 2015, he stated that the reform is waiting for a lot of things to be performed by the Council of Representatives especially the Federal Court Act which is the pillar of judiciary’s reform, as the religious authority and the masses demand.
Furthermore, he mentioned that there are laws relative to citizen’s daily distress that are waiting to be enacted by the House of Representatives as the Federal Service Law that is concerned with providing job opportunities which would make young people clinging to their land, urging the House of Representatives to prioritize in its formal meetings and the meetings of its discussion sessions the important laws.
In addition, he stated the importance of economic laws that contribute to the alleviation of the financial crisis’ burden especially in the light of oil prices’ drop such as the investment law, calling for the involvement of elites in debates about the financial crisis to come out with a view and necessary fundamental treatments.
