Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, received the delegation of Basra scholars headed by Mufti of Basra Sheikh Salman al-Tamimi in his office in Baghdad on Sunday October 10, 2015.
His Eminence called for concerted efforts to advance socially and economically Basra’s reality as it is Iraq’s lung, stressing the immunization of Basra from the attempts to drag it into the mess. He also reiterated his support for people’s demand of providing services, urging the notables of Basra to assume their responsibilities in ending the phenomenon of tribal conflicts and guiding arms toward ISIS.
