Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, assured that the liberation battles in Baiji and Al Anbar have proven the solidarity of the Iraqi people and the fall of all attempts to sow discord between the Iraqi components, reminding that Iraqis are united against ISIS because it is targeting all of them and calling upon the international community to understand these facts and support Iraq who is fighting on behalf of them.
This came when his eminence received the Special United Nations Representative in Iraq, Jan Kubis, at his office in Baghdad on 21/10/2015.
His eminence discussed with Kubis the situation of the displaced and ways to ease their suffering especially with the arrival of winter. He called on everyone to should their responsibility with regard the problem of Iraqi displacement and stressed the need to reconstruct the freed regions by activating the cities reconstruction fund, highlighting that the United Nations should play its role in this regard. His eminence also discussed with the UN representative the issue of the national reconciliation, explaining that reform has prerequisites, most importantly the serious nature, inclusiveness, balance and compliance with the constitution and the law.
