Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the unity of Iraqi stance toward Turkish incursion and the violation of sovereignty, noting that this unity has emerged more clearly than ever and has been interpreted through the meetings of blocs, whether under the patronage of the President of the Republic, or the meetings of representatives of the people in their agenda.
During his meeting with Deputy Mahmoud al-Mashhadani at his office in Baghdad on Tuesday 15/12/2015, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim indicated that Iraq’s need and assistance will be in accordance with its vision and need and no one can help Iraq by the way he imposes.
Concerning Iraqi security situation, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim said that ISIS organization is in its last throes, adding that it is an ended project that some people have wagered on. He also called to be alert to a post-ISIS phase, to invest the victories achieved in making the country connected, and to advance the societal reality that has greatly witnessed disorder.
With regard to the conditions of displaced people, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim affirmed that the file of displaced people is the most one among other files that puts pressure on the political forces to get out of the current crisis, to reconstruct the cities, and to agree on a comprehensive vision within a historic compromise needed by everyone. Moreover, he placed the responsibility of reducing the burden of displacement, especially in winter and in the bitter cold, on all political, religious, tribal, and societal leaders.
