    Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim Calls On The UN Security Council States To Support The Iraqi Diplomatic Track To Stop The Violation Of Iraqi Sovereignty

        Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, called on the UN Security Council states, especially the permanent members, to support the Iraqi diplomatic track in order to stop the violation of Iraqi sovereignty represented by the incursion of armored Turkish troops in the city of Mosul, stressing the need to respect the sovereignty of Iraq and to support it in its war against terrorism, provided that the support shall be required and approved by the Iraqi government and convenient with its vision.

    This came during a meeting with His Eminence and the UK Ambassador to Baghdad Frank Baker, on Thursday December 17, 2015.

        His Eminence discussed with Baker the security and political developments in the country and the region, as well as the victories recently achieved in Ramadi, Baiji and the rest of Iraqi cities. They also discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and UK in the practical, cultural and political aspects, calling on Britain and international organizations to play a bigger role in the relief of displaced and to ease the burden they will confront with the advent of winter.
