    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Discusses with Iranian Ambassador Security and Political Developments in Iraq and the Region

        Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, discussed with the Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Hassan Danaeifar, the political and security developments in Iraq and the region, as well as the victories achieved by the security forces, the Popular Mobilization Units, and the Iraqi tribes against ISIS.

    During his meeting with Danaeifar at his office in Baghdad on Sunday 3/1/2016, His Eminence indicated the importance of concerted efforts to eradicate the terrorist ISIS as it is a clear threat to the world and the region and as Iraq is the spearhead of confrontation, calling for supporting Iraq according to its needs and its decisions since it knows better the conditions on the ground, which constitute the hardest stage of the fight against ISIS and it is capable of overcoming it. Furthermore, he valued the position of the Islamic Republic and its broad response to Iraq after ISIS represented in its early stages a real threat to the Iraqi state.

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim renewed his condemnation of the execution of Ayatollah al-Nimr in Saudi Arabia that only happened because he had a different opinion and announced it loudly.
