    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Discusses with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom the Security and Political Situation in Iraq and the Region

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, received, on January 14, 2016, in his office in Baghdad, the ambassador of the United Kingdom in Iraq Frank Baker.
    \r\n
     Both sides discussed the security and political developments in Iraq and the region as well as the international situation in general. His Eminence stressed the Iraqis are able to defeat Daesh and that they are the only people in the world who face terrorism on the ground, calling on the whole world to shoulder their responsibilities towards Iraq, by supporting it to eliminate terrorism especially in light of the financial crisis witnessed by Iraq.

      His Eminence reiterated the need for the Iraqis to make a national and cross-sectarian project that serves their best interests, declaring that there is a chance to make this project.
