    Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim visited monument of Shabaniyah uprising (the 1991 uprisings in Iraq) martyrs and emphasizes \"unless for their blood we wouldn’t breathe freedom\"

    Chairman Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim visited monument of Shabaniyah uprising martyrs in the city of Maysan. Tuesday, March 22, 2016.

    His Eminence stressed that \"unless for the blood of the martyrs and specially the martyrs of the Shabaniyah uprising we wouldn’t breathe freedom”, noting that the Shabaniyah uprising was the stone that stirred the stagnant water.

    Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim stated that the uprising have been instrumental in breaking the barrier of fear of Iraqis and managed in a short period of time to have advantage over the oppressive former regime, adding, but the former regime utilized the ugliest oppression tools and was assisted by many people until hundreds of thousands were put in mass graves and terrains without documenting this crime.

    His Eminence praised the sacrifice of the martyrs, calling for justice to the martyrs and taking care to their families, stressing that live nations are which are proud and honor their martyrs.
