Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim urges youth to take their role and reiterates his call to reduce the age of nomination to the Iraqi Council of Representatives

Chairman Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim urged Iraqi youth to take their role in all aspects and not to wait for anyone to give them their chance, reiterating his call to reduce the age of candidacy to the parliament and provincial councils so more youth can have a role in building the country.

This took place during a meeting with His Eminence in Maysan gathering of elite youth Wednesday, 3/23/2016

His Eminence explained the reason of reducing the candidacy age by the importance of a correct proportionality between the Iraqi people, at which it is described as a youth community, and their representatives in the Council of Representatives, so it is not fair that youth represents more than half of Iraqi people in the community yet they do not find themselves represented in the government or the Council of Representatives, Valuing the cohesion of the youth and their closeness to Religious Authority, for instance, the influx of hundreds of thousands of youth responding to the call of the Religious Authority to defend the homeland and the holy places.

His Eminence called to take good attention to this community category and to work on training and developing them, calling youth to be engaged in commercial, industrial or agricultural projects that will provide them economic stability and contribute to the development of themselves.
