National Iraqi Alliance: we understand requests of our political partners to merge dates of provincial elections with parliamentary elections

The National Iraqi Alliance expressed understanding the justifications forwarded by its political partners and their demands to merge the two electoral practices, the provincial elections to be conducted simultaneously with the parliamentary elections. Attendees confirmed the need to improve security in the areas of operations and the restitution of displaced people to their original areas in order to give the opportunity for the Independent Electoral High Commission to complete the procedures for counting and registration electronically, indicating that merging the two electoral practices will contribute in the reduction of the financial expenses needed to cover the overall electoral practice.
