Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, at his office in Baghdad met with Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations International Affairs Mr. Miroslav Jinka, Monday, 28.11. 2016. His eminence pointed the importance of relations between Iraq and the United Nations and the need for expansion and cementing these relations and in various fields, particularly with regard to humanitarian assistance provided by the United Nations.\r\n
His eminence discussed with Mr. Jinka the historic settlement initiative and the need to synchronize it with the liberalization of Nineveh without making concessions to a party at the expense of another. His eminence praised the role of the United Nations in support of this initiative and make it a success in addition to the enactment of the Popular Mobilization forces Act as will guarantee the rights and privileges of its affiliates, who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the occupied parts of homeland by terrorist factions of Daesh and provides the legal and constitutional cover for the movement of these forces in accordance with the Constitution.\r\n
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim urged the United Nations to increase efforts and a willingness to restitute bigger numbers of displaced families and provide the necessary services for them, especially after the military operations to liberate the city of Mosul.
