Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim meets with French Ambassador to discuss developments in the security and political situation in Iraq
Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, in his office in Baghdad received French Ambassador to Baghdad Mr. Marc Baretti Thursday 09/02/2017
\r\nHis eminence discussed with Baretti bilateral relations between Iraq and France, support of Iraq in the face of Daesh terrorism, as well as bilateral relations between Iraq and France in political and economic domains, and the reconstruction of the cities that had been damaged by Daesh terrorist, stressing that Iraq is on the first line of confrontation with terrorist Daesh which requires the world\'s support in this war that is waged on behalf of the world, his eminence stressed the importance to face Daesh’s security challenge through the exchange of information, monitoring recruitment platforms and financing of terrorist groups.
\r\nHis eminence indicated that addressing Daesh is not limited to military interventions, but needs economic, political, societal and developmental solutions able to isolate terrorism and prevent their return, expressing his confidence that Iraq has become immune from terrorist takfiri ideology and Iraq is much closer to unity
