    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim with the local administration of Basra to discuss facts of services and politics in Basra

    Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, in his office in Baghdad received the local administration of the province of Basra, the governor of Basra Mr. Majid al-Nasrawi and Parliament Members of Basra province.

    The meeting included an expanded meeting between the head of the National Iraqi Alliance and the members of Basra provincial council and the governor of Basra with the attendance of Parliament Members of Basra province, and discussions covered the facts of services and politics in the city of Basra, security and means to reduce, prevent and stop the reoccurrence of tribal conflicts.

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim called for integrated roles between the local administration and the governor of Basra to provide services, indicating that unity of approach is the key to address all crises, stressing the importance of reaching acceptable solutions for the unsolved issues with Baghdad and especially financial problems, pointing to the importance of granting provincial constitutional powers to enable them to provide services for the Iraqi people.

    His eminence shouldered the political, social and tribal actors the responsibility to address negative occurrences in Basra, like tribal disputes clan and to work to remove tensions and prevent its reoccurrence, warning plans that seek to bring disorder to the cities of the south and find security vulnerabilities that may be exploited by Daesh to replace defeats in Mosul, stressing on providing care for families of martyrs and giving them privileges and priority in education and employment.
