The Political Authority of the National Iraqi Alliance holds a meeting to discuss developments of security and political situation in Iraq
The Political Authority of the National Iraqi Alliance held its regular meeting in the Office of the Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Tuesday 11/4/2017. Meeting topics discussed the developments of security and political situation in Iraq and the region.
\r\nThe participants discussed Political Authority meeting agenda issues represented in discussing the national settlement and the role of the United Nations as a supporter to this topic, and announcement of launching the national settlement in coincid with the liberation of the city of Mosul that will occur in the near future, God willing.
\r\nThe Political Authority hosted a number of Turkmen who presented a report on conditions of the province of Kirkuk, concerns of the Turkmen component and its insight on the post-Daesh phase, the conditions of the province after the crisis of raising the flag of Kurdistan Region on the governmental buildings in the city and its impact on the national cohesion and the history of the city that is known of peaceful coexistence between all community components.
\r\nThe participants also discussed the formation of the Committee of Experts to follow up the proxy employment and upcoming elections in addition to decide selection of the new Electoral Commission Council, and discussing the election law and reduce the number of members of the Iraqi House of Representatives and provincial councils.
