Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, during his visit to Cairo heading the National Iraqi Alliance delegation and meeting with the President of the Egyptian People\'s Assembly, Mr. Ali Abdel-Al, Tuesday 18/4/2017, emphasized that Iraq imposed a deadly barricade on Daesh terrorists to prevent him from fleeing and threatening other cities in other countries in the region, noting that the battle of Mosul, that it is close to an end, witnessed challenges including preventing terrorism from fleeing and protecting civilians in Mosul, because the first priority is the liberation of the citizen.\r\n
His eminence pointed out that the battle of Mosul is one of the clean battles in which the human rights term was greatly present. His eminence stressed that Egypt is an important state for the Arab balance and the balance of the region in general, pointing out that the economic interests between Egypt and Iraq are a key entry point for a strategic alliance on the oil pipeline, from Basra to Aqaba and El Arish.\r\n
His eminence called on the Egyptian side to facilitate the permit procedures for Iraqis to Egypt for the purpose of tourism, trade or study, pointing to the importance of the incorporation of the Iraqi and Egyptian representatives councils in enacting legislation to fight against terrorism and in the face of extremist ideology, adding that the solution may be in two aspects the military and security which is the responsibility of the security services in the two countries and the second is the intellectual solution and this is the responsibility of al-Najaf and Al-Azhar.\r\n
Regarding the national settlement project, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim stated to the Egyptian Speaker of the House, \"We see that the settlement is a project to build a citizen’s state and the next phase must witness merging national lists\" to achieve the national majority, considering the national majority an approach to lead the state in the coming years, stressing on the five priorities in the next phase which are represented in the unity of Iraq, Arabism, sovereignty, democracy and the state of citizenship as well as the resettlement of displaced families and the reconstruction of cities.
