The Political Authority of the National Iraqi Alliance holds its regular meeting discussing the latest security and political situation
The Political Authority of the National Iraqi Alliance, headed by Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim held regular meeting at his eminence’s Office in Baghdad Sunday 21/5/2017.
\r\nThe meeting discussed security and political updates and developments in Iraq and the region, especially the progress of operations in the right bank of Mosul and the liberation of neighborhoods and siege of the remaining Daesh located in old neighborhoods areas, as well as developments of the western side of Mosul to the Iraqi border, because of the area’s critical importance to the elimination of terrorism in the cities of Iraq.
\r\nThe meeting also touched upon elections and the progress of parliamentary committee to select members of the new Board of Commissioners, and conferees stressed the need to complete the aforementioned Committee and activate its functionality as soon as possible, draft was also discussed stressing the importance of resolving the debate around election law to ensure the legislation of provincial elections law in order to achieve stability, fair representation and foster performance and development.
\r\nMeeting hosted the head of the Shiite Endowment Bureau, which provided a detailed report on the work of the Bureau and the most important achievements and obstacles challenges.
\r\nConferees discussed the work of the Alliance’s committees and their roles in coordination with local governments, the federal government and parliamentary committees of the Iraqi House of Representatives.
