The National Iraqi Alliance delegation headed by Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim called the Iraqi Mandaeans immigrants who were forced to leave Iraq due to the circumstances to return and contribute to the construction of Iraq with their brothers from the remaining components of Iraqi society in a meeting with Mandaeans representatives Wednesday 24/5/2017.\r\n
The delegation emphasized that Mandaeans are a qualitative addition to Iraqi society and the people of Iraq are proud of their diversity and their different affiliations as a source of pride and cultural enrichment. Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim urged all components to give community peace a special priority as it is the most important and pressing case after military victory over the terrorist Daesh.\r\n
The meeting discussed security situation and the military developments. The participants praised the victories achieved by the security forces, the popular mobilization forces that resulted in a near conclusion and declaration of an Iraq free of Daesh military presence. His eminence pointed out the importance of security preparedness and that roles are the responsibility of everyone, pointing out that the delegation listened to the views and observations presented by Mandaeans brothers regarding the national settlement, and stressed on the importance of restoring harmony and build on basis of unity during facing Daesh on the upcoming phase.
