    Al-Hakeem: To reduce the violence against women there must be will, stability and high willingness to sacrifice

    Sayeed Amar al-Hakeem, the head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed that Islam honored the woman, gave her a high class status that is consistent with her big roles and treated her as an excellent human being contain all the premises, success, impact, effectiveness, tender and susceptibility for the humanitarian community in building life, praising the positive attitude of Islam toward women.
    His Eminence referred to the most dangerous cases of violence against women when the violence and injustice turns to be a normal phenomenon, customs, traditions and natural rights to the man, stressing that this case is the most serious cases against the women in our community because women are under two conditions, first when the violence being applied on women and second when this violence became the men’s right against women.
    Sayeed Amar al-Hakeem cited with the Qur’an verses and stories in good dealing with the women in Islam and how Islam has focused on the issues in its small partial, but within the overall vision, including, for example the view of Imam Sadiq (PBUH) when he said "whom did the good righteousness with his family, may Allah add more times to his age" and the vision of the Prophet Mohamed when he said "I do not wonder who is beating his wife, while he deserve to be beaten first before his wife"
    Al-Hakeem indicated that the reduction of violence against women needs for strong and active movements goes with the size of this phenomenon and armed with patience and persistence as well as armed readiness to sacrifice, citing the attitude of Zainab al-Hawrea (PBUH) when she risked herself in uncovering the secrets of her rights for the sake of the religion
