Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, met governor of Basra, Engineer Asad al-Eidani at the latter’s office Wednesday 10/1/2018.
His eminence with Eidani and discussed the security and political situation in the city, stressed the need to do justice to Basra, the lung of Iraq, Iraq's smile and the economic capital because it had offered a lot to Iraq and still giving and will remain, noted that it is fair to grant Basra its own rights provided by law, including petrodollar and compensation for the environmental impact of oil extraction, refining and export, stressed granting Basra sons employment priority in public or private sector.
His eminence pointed to service situation in the province of Basra and the provision of services using available resources, called for more effort to attract investments that contribute to the development of the city and its people, pointed out that this can only be achieved through Basra people being united and favored public interest over personal interests everyone wins if Basra prosper, stressed on importance of passing delayed laws and modernize mechanisms so that the people of Basra enjoy their land and its benefits.
Regarding administrative situation, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim stressed on complementarity between the governorate and its council and continuous coordination with universities and the professional immigrants of Basra, pointed out the value of the University of Basra and its role in this type of cooperation that gives opportunity to professionals to contribute in the construction of their city through planning and detailed studies for needs according to priorities.
