Head of the Al-Hikma National Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, in his office in Baghdad received the new Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Paul Gibbard Tuesday 23/10/2018
His eminence with Gibbard discussed bilateral relations and joint cooperation between the Iraq and Canada, his eminence appreciated having a resident Canadian ambassador in Baghdad, expressed hope that this will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between and expand the scope of partnership in economic aspects, and benefit from the Canadian experience to consolidate the administrative decentralization and transfer of experience to Iraq in this regard
His eminence reiterated support to the future government, stressed the need to assess the government performance in the next phase to ensure provision of services to citizens and meet the aspirations of the people.
Mr. Paul Gibard praised the steps taken by the Al-Hikma National Movement to support women through convening of a conference opposing violence against women, pointed out that his country is ready to assist Iraq in supporting women as well as cooperation on economic and political levels, and contribute in transferring the experience of administration decentralization.
