Head of the Al-Hikma National Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, in his office in Baghdad, met separately with Ambassador of China, HE Zhang Tao, and Ambassador of France, HE Bruno Aubert, Nd discussed developments of political scene in Iraq, particularly current demonstrations in a number of governorates. And also discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them on all levels.
His eminence demanded the Government of Iraq to respond to the rightful demands of peaceful protestors, and reiterated condemning the use of excessive force and violence, targeting demonstrators and security forces, and hold the remiss accountable. And expressed deep regret over the numbers of martyrs among the demonstrators and security forces.
His eminence stressed the constitutional right for citizen to demonstrate peacefully and demand rights, called on the political forces, the House of Representatives and the government to take urgent steps to carry out comprehensive reforms in the country.
