Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem receives disabled people’s delegation, calls to reform their legislative environment
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of the National State Powers Alliance, met the delegation of the Disabled People's Assembly headed by Mr. Muwaffaq Al-Khafaji on Thursday, September 23, 2021, and praised the efforts of this group in spreading out life messages, especially in their sports achievements. H.E. said that disability is a disability of thought and mind, not of the body.
His Eminence called to intensify the procedures of integrating them into Iraqi society, as well as emphasizing on addressing the legislative environment of the Disabled and activate their own laws, and legislate laws that will enable them to acquire their rights. H.E. also stressed the importance of preparing institutions and streets to allow people with disabilities to practice their daily lives in a normal way, H.E. also referred to the need to develop the educational environment, modernize curricula, activate the work of institutions and pay attention to their international days.
