Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Turkish Ambassador, Reviews Bilateral Relations, Regional Developments
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, at His office in Baghdad on Monday morning, January 12, 2026. The meeting involved an exchange of views on bilateral relations between the two neighboring and friendly peoples, as well as discussions on regional developments and ways to ease tensions to promote stability.
H.E. outlined the situation in Iraq, noting that the country is experiencing unprecedented stability across security, political, and social levels, steadily building positive achievements toward sustainable stability. H.E. emphasized that the recent elections—with high participation, transparent processes, and the nature of their results—sent a strong message of accomplishment, adding to Iraq’s national achievements.
H.E. called for the continuation and strengthening of bilateral relations, stressing the importance of Iraq receiving fair water allocations. H.E. also highlighted the need to exchange expertise in modern technologies and irrigation methods to serve the interests of both peoples and enhance joint cooperation.
