Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, Reviews Political Developments, Iraq’s Regional Role
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Fouad Hussein at His office in Baghdad on Sunday evening. The meeting involved an exchange of views on developments in Iraq’s political landscape, the efforts of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to safeguard the country’s interests, and Iraq’s role in supporting regional stability.
H.E. emphasized the importance of preserving the achieved stability across political, social, and security levels, stressing the need to capitalize on this phase and its positive indicators to transition toward sustainable stability. H.E. noted that Iraq is approaching this goal, provided that all efforts converge on safeguarding the country’s supreme interests.
H.E. further stressed the need for a unified stance across various arenas, underlining that such unity reinforces national cohesion and strengthens solidarity among the Iraqi people.
H.E. also highlighted Iraq’s significant economic and financial challenges, calling for strategic, non-traditional solutions and a willingness to bear their short-term burdens. H.E. urged activating productive sectors—particularly in agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology—to diversify income sources and strengthen the national economy.
