Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), met President Jalal Talabani at the latter’s Baghdad resident on Monday, October 1, 2012. During the meeting, a discussion went on of the most recent developments of the political crisis and the latest about holding the national meeting. His Eminence lauded the role of His Excellency in bringing viewpoints closer among the Iraqi contending groups. His Eminence stressed the dire need for showing seriousness in a truthful dialogue led by the various political leaderships in order to reach one vision that convinces all groups, pointing out that the national dialogue is a political necessity and is one of the requirements of the current stage which we live. On his part, the President lauded the positive stances expressed by Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim in bringing viewpoints closer among the political contenders and his repeated calls to employ constructive dialogue as a way to get out of the present political crisis.
