Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim warns against the deterioration of the regional situation and calls for support for Lakhdar Librahimi’s initiative in Syria
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, Head of the Islamic Supreme Council in Iraq (ISCI), has warned about the deterioration of the regional conditions and their reaching a point with dire consequences.
This came up when he received the ambassador of the United States, Robert Stephen Beecroft, at his Baghdad office on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. His Eminence called for supporting the initiative of the U.N. and Arab envoy, Lakhdar Librahimi, in resolving the Syrian crisis, pointing out that dialogue is the best way to stop the Syrian bloodletting.
