Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim said, “We support any step that lessens repulsion, tension, exchanged abuses and pushes Iraq towards progress and development.”

Mr. Ammar al-Hakim has stressed that the Supreme Council supports any step that lessons repulsion, tension, exchanged abuses and pushes Iraq towards progress and development, emphasizing that Iraq, due to the civilization, history and riches it has, is able to build a fair modern state incorporating all components and spectrums of the Iraqi people.
This came up during a meeting between the Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq and a large delegation of sheikhs, dignitaries and elite groups of Wasit governorate on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at his Baghdad office.
His Eminence pointed out that facing the security, political and service challenges is done by renouncing differences and firming the national rank, calling for keenness about choosing sincere and competent people in the upcoming elections in order to achieve a comprehensive renaissance for the country in the industrial, agricultural, scientific and other fields.
His Eminence pointed out to the strong relationship between the Iraqi tribes and the religious Marji`iyya (highest religious authority), especially that of the Al Hakim. His Eminence renewed the call to create a law that protects the tribes and their sheikhs, grants them the opportunity and authority within processes and a special system for safeguarding the security of the homeland and of the citizen, explaining that achieving such a law represents an important prelude for the strength of the Iraqi society, lauding the tribes’ role in safeguarding the national unity and fighting terrorism.
