    During his reception for the Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim urges Canada to raise the level of its representation in Iraq

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), has urged the Canadian government to raise the level of its diplomatic representation in Iraq, stressing Iraq's endeavor to firm its relations with Canada in various fields in order to serve the interests of both friendly countries and nations.
    This came up when His Eminence received the Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Gwozdecky, on Tuesday, December 04, 2012.
    On his part, the Canadian Ambassador stressed his country's keen interest in and commitment to deepening the relationship with Iraq, pointing out to the existence of preparations for a visit by his country's foreign minister to Iraq to be the first visit of this kind since 20 years.
