Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim says, “We need the spirit of challenge and high determination in building our homeland and society. Nations rise when they look after the youths segment.”

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), stressed that Iraq needs people who are characterized by the spirit of challenge and high determination to reach their goals, pointing out to adornment with high determinations being the key for Iraq’s success. His Eminence praised the spirit of the youths as the builders of the future, stressing that nations’ rising is measured according to their plans for looking after the youths and developing this segment. This came up during his meeting with a group of athletes from popular football teams in Baghdad on Saturday, December 8, 2012.
His Eminence explained that there are lessons inspired by the football game some of which are of a collective nature: Without this collectiveness, the goal is not reached. Moreover, football provides a lesson in patience, persistence and toleration of difficulties till the end. He stressed the clarity of the goal which is needed by the society, too, explaining that this game gives one a lesson in choosing the right team and the right path. His Eminence explained saying that one of its lessons, besides the above, is the distribution of roles, their integration and obedience of the leadership without which the team fails. Moreover, it does not recognize one who is not competent. The best person is the one who gives without favoritism or affiliation with this group or that. Also, it stresses continuous training, the investing of available opportunities, and the team distinguishing itself with its identity. In other words, every team works according to certain characteristics and features.
