Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim says, “If we want to be followers of al-Husain (Ú), we have to absorb everyone for the sake of building Iraq.”

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim has stressed that the message of Imam al-Hussain (Ú) is one of forbearance, containment and the acceptance of the other party for the sake of firming the principles of virtue and goodness. He added saying, “If we want to be followers of al-Hussain (Ú), we have to absorb everyone for the sake of building Iraq.”
This came up when the head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI) participated on Saturday, December 29, 2012, the throngs of pilgrims from the al-Najaf al-Ashraf governorate who were heading towards Holy Kerbala to revive the anniversary of the Arba`een of Imam al-Hussain (Ú).
His Eminence pointed out to the noble and clear objectives of the revolution of Imam al-Hussain (Ú), explaining that the message of the million-man march towards the mecca of sacrifice and outgiving in Holy Kerbala had started to expand to reach the Arab and Islamic countries and even to the world community. He drew attention to the participation of all components and spectrums of the Iraqi people signifying the status of togetherness and affinity among the Iraqis, lauding the efforts of tens of thousands of Hussaini processions that serve the pilgrims of Imam al-Hussain (Ú) day and night.
