Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim said, “We support the legitimate and constitutional demands of all citizens of Iraq.”

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), stressed that the Movement of the Martyr of the Niche (may Allah sanctify his soul) supports the viewpoint of the highest religious authority for resolving the current crisis which advocates calming down, dialogue and the renunciation of the sectarian slogans and tense speeches, explaining that the Iraqi situation is sensitive because of what the region is witnessing, calling on everyone to bear their responsibilities to end the present crisis.
This came up during the meeting of the expanded consultative meeting of the Movement of the Martyr of the Niche at the office of His Eminence in Baghdad on Monday, January 7, 2013.
His Eminence expressed his thanks, pride in and regards for the role undertaken by the members of the Movement of the Martyr of the Niche in reviving the Arba`een Ziyara and serving the millions of crowds that went to visit Holy Kerbala from everywhere. His Eminence also thanked the security services that undertook on their shoulders to protect the pilgrims, emphasizing that walking during the Arba`een occasion of Imam al-Hussain (Ú) is walking towards Allah and emulating the conduct of His friends, calling on the members of the Movement of the Martyr of the Niche to let their first and last concern be to serve the people regardless of the size to be produced by the upcoming elections. He justified this by saying that serving people makes the state’s composition productive, serving the homeland and the citizen, which is the endeavor and objective of the members of the Movement of the Martyr of the Niche.
