U.S. Ambassador stresses the call by Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim on the political groups to calm down and to adopt the constitution and dialogue as a venue for solving the crisis

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), has called on the political groups to calm down and not to escalate the crisis, warning that the escalation does not serve Iraq’s unity and security, and it will affect the entire region, stressing the necessity of dialogue and reliance on the constitution to solve the crisis. This came up when His Eminence received the Ambassador of the United States of America to Baghdad, Stephen Beecroft, on Thursday, January 10, 2013.
On his part, the American Ambassador lauded the call of Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim on the political groups to sit down round the dialogue table and to depend on the constitution as means for solutions, stressing that this call is the best solution for the current crisis. Also, the meeting witnessed a discussion of the relations between both countries and the means to develop them to serve the interests of both Iraqi and American nations.
