During his reception for the French Ambassador to Iraq, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim says, “Domestic problems and crises hinder Iraq from its affective role in solving regional crises.”

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), has stressed that the domestic problems and political crises hinder Iraq from performing its real and affective role in allaying the intensity of the regional crises in the area and in participating in solving them, emphasizing that the current crisis in the country needs cooperation in a flexible realistic spirit and the addressing of the legitimate demands according to the constitution and the law.
This came up during his reception for the French Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Denny Goyer, on Monday, January 14, 2013, at his Baghdad office.
His Eminence made it clear that he is conducting communications and meetings with the political leaders, theologians and tribal sheikhs to contain the crisis, drawing attention to the National Alliance working hard for calming down, dialogue and managing the situations in order to speed up the solving of the current crisis.
On his part, the French Ambassador expressed his appreciation of the role Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim has been playing and his efforts to end the current crisis, stressing his country’s keenness about sustaining the democratic plan in Iraq in a way that enhances stability in Iraq and the region.
