    During his reception for sheikhs and dignitaries of the Majidis tribe, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim says, "We shall not accept the address that helps us win votes in exchange for the loss of Iraqi lives.

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim has stressed his emphasis that the Supreme Council does not accept the address that helps it win votes in exchange for the loss of Iraqis' lives, stressing the necessity of unification for the interests of the people and for avoiding bloodshed.
    This came up when the head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq received at his Baghdad office on Saturday, February 23, 2013 a delegation from sheikhs and dignitaries of the Majidis tribe.
    His Eminence expressed his support for the legitimate rights of the citizens of the Iraqi people in all their components and spectrums without discrimination, urging the officials to speed up finding solutions for the problems and crises and to provide the services for the Iraqi citizens, calling on everyone to be adorned with patience and to solve the problems through the means of calming down and holding dialogues according to the law and constitution.
    His Eminence also pointed out to the strong relationship that connects the good Iraqi tribes to the religious Marji`iyya (highest religious authority) throughout history, appreciating the stances of the sheikhs and members of the Majidi tribe in their effort to strengthen the unity and solidarity of all components of the Iraqi people in addition to providing great sacrifices for the sake of the freedom and dignity of Iraq and its people.
    On his part, the visiting delegation expressed its appreciation of the honorable patriotic role of the family of the Hakims in its defense of the rights of all Iraqis.
