On Friday, April 26, 2013, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Superior Council of Iraq, received in his office in Baghdad the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegovic. During the meeting, his Eminence described the creation by Bosnia and Herzegovina of a diversity-based political equation, as well as the economic and commercial opportunities and the Bosnian firms, as an important point of departure for the good relations between both countries. According to him, Bosnia and Herzegovina has a special place in the hearts of Muslims everywhere because of the horrors witnessed by the Bosnian people during the civil war and the unfair aggression against of Muslims there.
Both parties also discussed the bilateral relations between both countries, and how to develop them in a way to serve the best interest of both peoples. For his part, the Bosnian member of the Presidency confirmed his country's intent on advancing the relations between both countries and the willingness of the Bosnian firms to take part in the reconstruction of Iraq.
