Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim: The National Partnership Is a Principle Founded by the Martyr of the Niche, Muhammed Baqir al-Hakim (May Allah Sanctify his Soul) and its Followers Cling to this Principle

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Superior Council of Iraq, said the Martyr of the Niche (may Allah sanctify his soul) founded the principle of national partnership, which was fundamental to how he had dealt with the regime of Saddam Hussein during the confrontation period, and then after its fall during the reconstruction period. According to him, partnership was the essence of his theory about political projects. He said the Martyr of the Niche belongs to all Iraq and is trans-denominational and transnational, and his principle became rooted in his companions and sons. He added that the Martyr of the Niche sees the partnership and its expansion as the ultimate solution to multiply achievements and push projects forward. He also explained that the Martyr of the Niche Movement is following in the footsteps of its leader, and their adherence to partnership is less about strong or weak points than it is about their commitment to the devoted Islamic political action tools. This was the eulogy delivered by his Eminence in commemoration of the Marty of the Niche (may Allah sanctify his soul), the day of the Iraqi martyr in Najaf Thursday May 9, 2013.
His Eminence ensured that whether in the vanguard or not, the Martyr of the Niche Movement will be always an advocate of partnership and will recommend the involvement of others and the protection of their rights even if others neglect those of the followers of the Martyr of the Niche Movement. He stressed that the political majority that had the support of the Movement was a majority where all the basic components of the Iraqi people were represented and partnership is what the Movement counts on to build the nation, and a linchpin for success. He also explained that the partnership upholds the credibility of the Movement which embarked on project as big as the nation and the country. Moreover, his Eminence pointed that after the Martyr of the Niche, the Iraq's Aziz, Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, held the banner of partnership and that the Martyr of the Niche did not care about reactions, yet he has heeded the basically disciplined action in his movement and defended everyone since he believed that all citizens were equal. He added that the vision on nation building is complicated, but productive and contributing to the building of the state and the safeguarding of the country and the nation. In addition, he stated that to be loyal to the martyred leaders, mainly the Martyr of the Niche, is to follow their suit, to adhere to cordiality and tolerance and to turn the principles from a mere motto into a daily exercised feeling, describing the project planners as the only ones who do not justify their mistakes nor allow obstacles to stand in their way; they rather go forward. He assured that no state can be built in the absence of partnership, and no society can be developed without tolerance. To his Eminence, tolerance must be based on the theory of abiding by rights and obligations since tolerance cannot be shown when red lines and national and religious principles are being crossed. Furthermore he depicted the national unity as a norm to comply with, not a mere wish.
His Eminence pointed out to the Martyr of the Niche as one of those who were seeking martyrdom, since he used to clasp the cloth covering the Kaaba in the holiest place and time asking Allah for it, describing martyrs as the spirit of the nation with whom nations stand fast, vanquish and carry on towards life, and from whom nations derive power. Here, he explained how martyrdom is connected to the right cause and the people who sacrifice themselves for high-minded goals, and how martyrs stimulate the nation, make it consider the public interests while preserving its dignity armed with determination without kneeling down, and inject the spirit of sacrifice in it. His Eminence highlighted the importance of following the course of martyrs, especially when those martyrs are the sacrificing leaders, and taking them as examples by clinging to their ideas. He also stated that by being willing to get martyred, one will get ready to meet his God without hesitation or perplexity, and that those who are willing to die leave their marks after their death on the project planners, and do not fear death as long as their goals are lofty. He said the Martyr of the Niche get prepared to death and dedicated his whole life to defending his religion and his people's causes, while being very active in devoting his ideas and activity for the service of the country building project. Therefore, he was so preoccupied with the worries of the country and the nation that he has become a symbol of its cause.
His Eminence added that the Martyr of the Niche had a history of martyrdom: he knew no fear and had never thought twice; he was a truly believer in Allah and in his project; he had never paid attention to minor disputes, yet he worked on the big goals and overcame the obstacles; he was blessed by the purity of the heart, the high credibility and the strong will. Furthermore, his Eminence made a point of reminding of his optimism and high spirit even in the gloomiest circumstances. To him, martyrs do not choose where, when or how they want to get martyred. In fact, "the Martyr of the Niche died in a holy spot, where the resting place of Imam Ali (AS) is, on the first of Rajab, right after Friday prayer, which earned him another honor", he continued. His Eminence stated that the brutality with which he was killed showed the great effect of the Martyr of the Niche and him being a bulwark against the evil projects, describing the latter as the security valve and the unifier of the Iraqis and those who targeted the Martyr as ignorant who do not know that there is always someone who fills the vacancy, reminding of the role of the religious marjas in filling the vacancies in the leading positions. He also maintained that the standpoint of the Marty of the Niche is that the lofty ends must be controlled by legal means, and so, his means were consistent with his ends, i.e. his vision in the political and jihadi work, not dishonesty and maneuvering, since he acts according to the Islamic laws.
The head of the Islamic Superior Council of Iraq urged everyone to fulfill their obligations, to be aware of the seriousness of the current period and to reconsider the attitudes, explaining that the nation is facing great challenges and that the political map of the region is quickly changing with no solutions looming on the horizon. He also made clear that the region seems like preparing for a sectarian, ethnic conflict and that it is no secret that the international wills are intersected and discordant, calling on everyone to stick together and to step over narrow interests. He described the current period as a gloomy one and we have to protect Iraq from the upcoming disasters, God forbid, by not taking them for granted, warning that division would spare no one, even those of the same denomination and ethnicity and those of the same political faction.
Moreover, his Eminence urged everyone to review the results of the last elections which showed that the citizens see the political action in the services provided to them and a low turnout, reiterating that the last elections represented a real chance to serve the citizens, abandon the charged rhetoric and access the political reality through the services. He also said that by not reading the messages of the Iraqi voters, they are risking the confidence of people and that the provincial council alliances will give way to the next federal government alliances, showing that the trust of people is the source of power of the officials. Here, he underlined the necessity of generously indemnifying the victims of floods, thanking the Citizen Bloc for having given away part of its salaries and the religious marjas for having supported the victims, while considering the mismanagement as one of the causes that made people in this condition following the floods that hit Iraq, calling for setting out plans to avoid such disasters.
