    During a Visit to Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, both Delegates of al-Iraqiya List and Muttahidun Bloc Support His Eminence’s Initiative for a National Meeting

    MP Salman al-Jamili, head of al-Iraqiya List, and MP Dhafer al-Ani, spokesman of Muttahidun (United) bloc, have voiced their support of the initiative of Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, by which he called for a national meeting at the end of which a statement would be issued to assure the Iraq people. In a press conference, Al-Jamili confirmed both delegations’ positive reaction with the initiative, saying Iraqis can achieve peace and harmony in the country and considering it as good step to start with in order to build a new Iraq.
    For his part, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim has reiterated the necessity of commitment to the national fixed principles and appeasement so as to resolve the problems this country is facing. In a meeting with the MP Salman al-Jamili, head of al-Iraqiya List, and MP Dhafer al-Ani, spokesman of Muttahidun (United) bloc in his office in Baghdad, Monday, May 27, 2013, his Eminence stressed the need to urgently hold a national meeting to end pending crises and problems between political parties. He also elaborated on the initiative he launched to bring all political parties together as well as on its effects on the general situation in the country. In addition, both sides voiced their concern about the sad events that have rocked different parts of the country, particularly Baghdad, over the last few days. Also during the meeting, there was discussion about the legislations required for the next stage and the form of the incoming local governments of the provinces.
    In fact, on the occasion of the birth of Imam Ali (AS), Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim has urged the leaders of political blocs and parties, and both Shia and Sunni Waqfs to convene and to issue a statement that assures the Iraqi people.
