Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, has telegraphed a congratulatory letter to Mr. President Hassan Rouhani for being the President-elect of Iran.
His Eminence hoped in the letter sent Sunday, 16/6/2013, for more developed bilateral relations between both countries that serve the common interests of both Iraqi and Iranian fellow peoples.
He also said he is absolutely sure that the Islamic Republic will pursue its pivotal role, reinforce the chances of dialogue and mutual understanding, and increase the efforts in terms of common cooperation between the world countries in order to maintain security and stability, and enshrine the human principles of freedom, justice and prosperity.

May peace be upon you,
It is a pleasure to convey our sincerest congratulations and blessings to you for having earned the trust of the Muslim Iranian people and being elected president of the Islamic Republic of Iran during elections that have been held within a free, democratic environment and marked by the sense of responsibility which reflected the uniqueness of our Iranian brothers, their belief in your electoral platform and their care for reaching their noble goals.
We seize this opportunity to say that we are absolutely sure that the Islamic Republic of Iran, throughout your presidential term, will pursue its pivotal role, reinforce the chances of dialogue and mutual understanding, and increase the efforts in terms of common cooperation between the world countries in order to maintain security and stability, and enshrine the human principles of freedom, justice and prosperity
We ask Allah the Creator the Almighty to bestow upon the Islamic Republic and its great Muslim people his boons and bless your steps towards all what brings good and uprightness, hoping for more developed bilateral relations between both countries that serve the common interests of both Iraqi and Iranian fellow peoples
