    Kobler praises the role of Sayyed Ammar Al Hakim in supporting national reconciliation efforts and ensuring stability in Iraq

    The Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sayyed Ammar Al Hakim, appreciated the efforts of United Nations envoy, Martin Kobler, during his work in Iraq. His Eminence called, during a meeting with the envoy of the United Nations to Iraq, Martin Kobler, on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at his Baghdad office to mark the end of Kobler’s work in the country, for additional attention, support and coordination between the UN Mission, the government and organizations to better serve the Iraqi people and effectively contribute to removing Iraq from Chapter VII.
    For his part, Kobler praised in a press conference held after the meeting, the efforts made ​​by His Eminence in supporting the youth and women, in advocating and working to ensure jobs and laws in their service, as well as in supporting the efforts of national reconciliation and stabilization of the situation in Iraq, which culminated in a symbolic meeting of the leaders of political blocs in Iraq. The UN envoy in Iraq also expressed his high appreciation of the assessments presented ​​by the Head of the Supreme Council of the efforts and activities of the international organization in Iraq.
    Kobler congratulated His Eminence on the achievement that was made by The Citizen bloc in the last provincial elections and lauded the efforts to form efficient local governments.
    Kobler added: “I am thrilled to have attended many conferences and cultural events that Sayyed Al Hakim held in his office and that illustrate his commitment to work for the interest of the Iraqi people”.
